Isn't changing the oil fun?

Finally bit the bullet last night and attempt to change my oil, oh what a joy that little job is.

Undid the main drain plug, emptied the oil easy, thought to myself, this will be a piece of cake, WRONG.

Went to undo drain plug number two, stuck fast, cue frenzied hammering with an impact driver, got it undone, thought to my self, ah there won't be much oil, it's all drained out already, WRONG, cue oil slick on the garage floor followed by frenzied cleaning up off floor.

Undo oil filter cover, think, the oil MUST be all out now, WRONG, cue oil slick on floor again, followed by more frenzied cleaning.

So after 2 oil slicks I had emptied it, refitting everything was fine, and it was all sorted.

What a nightmare, at least I know what to expect now, maybe I should have video'd the whole job, set to laurel and hardy music it would have probably been quite funny...............

Ah well you'll be ready for it next time. :smt003

I always use an old washing up bowl to catch oil however much comes out from wherever.

Of course the next fun bit is - did I put in enough/too much ?

Hi Fausto the method of getting the oil level correct seems to be to file the oil tank to the top once everything is empty and the bungs are all back, this has always worked for me.
