levers....any ideas ???

#1 Post by cornish mafia » Thu Jul 01, 2010 7:52 pm

Now i know this is going to make me look worse then i already am.... BUT.... i'm looking at changing out the levers on my Falco for something with colour , adjustability and looks and of course CHEAP !!! :smt009

My main problem is the ones i've seen all seem to be missing the small push rod ( if you know what i mean by my none mechanical description ) to make either the clutch or brake work ... SO do i just have to either find some that have it in and if so where from or can i just take the ones out from my old ones and fit them straight into the new ones ?? Have had a quick look at the old ones fitted but can't seem to see an easy option ..... :smt017 ...unless i go about it the right way with hammer and tongs again which normally = more money when i've broken it !!!

So there you go , yet again i can prove i have no idea about what i'm doing :smt003 !! Although i will say in about two weeks time i'm fingers crossed it will be finished from top to bottom and my bank account can have a rest for the rest of the year or at least my misses calms down enough to let me back in the house !!! :smt005

Oh before i forget as well am having to split my chain so wondered if anyone knew where i could get a new link to fit a DID gold 525 chain x-ring i think ??

C'mon gods do your thing ..........PLEASE :smt002

On the clutch side I know for a fact that you can remove the pin from your old lever and use it in your new one.

You will see a slot for a screwdriver to turn the pin out, but make sure you loosen the very small grub screw (small allen headed) first.

Not sure the brake lever is the same, but I'd expect so.

I got a used set of shorty pazzo's from the states pretty reasonably priced, keep a look out on the AF1 forum

Nice one mate cheers for the heads up on removing the pin i will have a look and see what can be done ....... had a feeling it wouldn't be a case of break into the lever ....

Another vote for Pazzo's - beautiful pieces of kit and seriously comfortable

I've got the Pazzo ones, very happy with them. Was looking at the CRG ones before that, they looked good (and a bit cheaper than Pazzo, but not much!)

Anyone here using ASV levers? The Fut could do with some new levers - originals looking a bit tatty - and I'm quite tempted by the ASVs
