Got my baby out of storage today and set about doing some work.
I took off the sidestand and cut it in half ready for an extension. (getting done at work)
Removed the airbox ready for the new plate to be cut and drilled (renegade airbox type of mod)
Had a look at the rear plugs (running a bit rich)
blasted the exhaust internals (modified the standard cans) thses are getting welded tomorrow. I hope to have them finished by the weekend (less the polishing or paiting of the cans)
Got to put a new set of tyres on. I have a pair of supercorsa's that I got from a track day freind
Got plenty more stuff to do by sunday. Hopefully I will be at the meet up.
Going to bed now
see ya

Thats wierd

, I'm in the middle of making a fibreglass renegade-type of mod but i can garauntee mines much more shoddy than yours
I've junked the rubber air diverter thingys and just have a stepped flap going down to above the exhaust header. Have spaced the tank up 10mm just like they did in the 70's

and put a suzuki filter over the bellmouths.
Chances of it working : slim to none but its good practice for fiberglassing.
On the sidestand thing : are you re-enforcing it? I only ask as when they tilted my bike onto it for the MOT wheel bearing test it bent as its made from chocolate.
On the tyre thing : when I got stopped for speeding I had supercorsas on and the copper told me they were illegal as they didnt have enough tread pattern on even though I told him thats all the pattern they come with. Told me he'd let me off as I was already getting 3 points and to turn round and go home, yea course I will. arsehole.

I'm planning this for months! Will get there one day. When you do it, keep a template! What filters you use (bodies and breather)? And what material for the plate (I'm thinking 3mm aluminium plate).

Stupid question - what size of the socket is needed to get those plugs out?
Edit: answer 13mm
Cheers!

Dont know about it being shoddy but I will try to do it neatly and any mistakes will be covered by the carbon fibre sticky sheet
I will also be getting rid of the 'rubber air diverter thingys' as thy are just a restriction in my eyes. The 10mm spacer.....interesting..I think I will do that too but not to let any more air in....It will be to let the induction roar out
The sidestand has been done. I cut it about an inch from the foot, added a 40mm length of tube (slightly bigger cicumferance) and fitted a 90mm length of 10mm roundbar inside. It is all welded up now but it does need a bit of paint.
Tyres... I will quite happily let the copper book me. I will insist that he notes down the make and size of the tyres and then when I am in court with a brand new pair of tyes as 'evidence' I shal ask for re-embursment (spelling) because I am out of pocket.
I will win the case, get all my money back and walk out with a free set of supercorsa's

. In theory this is fool proof but in practice I will probably get shafted

What are you going to do with a breather?

Not sure yet. I may put a filter on it or go down the old route of extending the tube and it ending in a fashonable beer can . It may also end up as a chain oiler. I have already got a scottoiler which I may take off and put it on the 675.
Too many choices

Beer can option seems to be interesting... Do you need to fit a filter on the hose if doing that? Is Stella Artois good enough?
I've heard that chain oiler option is too messy. There is usually nothing coming from the tube and than all of the sudden you've got all back wheel covered with oil.

I've never had that happen. I'd have thought it's only likely if you massively overfill the oil tank.
I've had the Renegade kit on for more than two years and 10k miles. Now where exactly
is the oil filler?

I was talking about one of those breather type filters or somat like that

I was going to do what old brit bikes did and jam some wire wool down the breather
Heres my fibreglass effort on the airbox thingy. I still have the sensor to drill into it and maybe make a better filter-holder-down bracket if I can be bothered.
Over to you Paddy

That e x a c t l y what I was thinking about! I mean the shape of the plate (bending forward under the inlets)! You've put it into life tho. Hats off.
What kinda filter is that BTW?

Nice job. I have got nowhere yet. My plate is 5mm plastic (sort of) I will be cutting out a hole like the rene one.
All I have done so far is draw the outline of the airbox on it and made a paper template of the throttle body mounting.
I have not got a filter yet. I am thinking about the same filter as Firebolters on the AF! site.
Are you a spark btw or did you get the cable strapping from a spark
