Brake and clutch line lengths

I'm looking into getting some braided lines at last, but want to keep my options open on moving the clipons above the top clamp. So how much longer should I get the lines? I've got the figure of 75mm (about 3 inches) in my head :smt017

Also I've still got the RSV swingarm to fit and althoug I believe the std Falco brake line will fit it must be beneficial to get a longer one, although too much longer is potentially more of an issue than at the front. So how much longer should the rear line be?

Grats in advance for the info.

Hi all,

The back line I left as standard, I have fitted the mille swingarm, so it is OK. If you go too long, then the excess will be up next to the brake assembly, where the exhaust is :smt018 Which could leave for the brake oil bubbling away like on the suzuki's etc...

There is a heat shield that can be bought for the mille I think, or make your own :smt002

Front, not done the cross-over to ohlins, nor Have I raised my bars. I would guess that you would only go around 75mm extra. If you go too long, the hoses would by in the way when turning and generally in the way. My 5 cents worth....

Have fun fella :smt004
