Just popped into the engineering firm and got their quote for the pins. It works out as follows:

40 off (i.e. 10 sets) - £4.75 per pin (outlay of £190)
100 off (i.e. 25 sets) - £3.75 per pin (outlay of £375)
200 off (i.e. 50 sets) - £3.25 per pin (outlay of £650)

All in all, a little more than I was expecting. So it looks like £20 per set of 4 wasn't too far off as a guess...

Just to say I've asked a different firm for a competitive quote, just to see what they come up with. I've also asked for a quote for 20 pins (i.e. 5 sets). You're first on the list, Oli, if I decide to go ahead...

Just resurrecting this thread, as I may have found a (possible) source of the stainless pins for 4-pad Brembos (radial and non-radial). The guy's name is Chris Shaw and he manufactures very similar items for Brembo calipers as fitted to BMWs and Moto Guzzis.

So there's hope there. I'm going to send him the caliper pins from my (still as yet unfitted) 4-pad calipers so he can measure them up. I don't know prices yet, but I notice that his other caliper pins tend to run out at between £3.25 and £4.25 per pin. So if you budget about £20 per pair of calipers, plus p & p, that shouldn't be too far out, and may be less.

The guy's eBay userid is shawstainless, and his feedback is 100%, which is encouraging. If you're interested, I'd appreciate it if you'd post a note up, so I can gauge interest.

Chris seems pretty keen; he's ordered a new pin and spring set to take measurements off, so I'm awaiting developments. I think it should be a reasonable seller, as it not only fits the RSVR 4-pad calipers, but also Brembo's monoblock radial 4-pad calipers. And they're fitted to a lot of bikes.

I'll keep you all posted.

They still get a little corroded though but not so as to malfunction.
I find a thin coating of coppaslip does the job as it doesn't wash off or drip onto the pads and just takes a quick wipe off to remove all the dirt the next time you remove them.

Pro-Bolt already make these pins in titanium, either natural anodized flavour or anodized blue, gold or purple.

I can do them for £25 a set of four pins in plain, or £28 coloured.

I can also do titanium bleed nipples.
Front calipers (pair): £10.90 plain, £11.50 coloured.
Rear caliper (single): £8.40 plain, £11.40 coloured.

Postage £2.99, signed for service.

I'll do free postage on a full set of pins and nipples, comes out at £41.30 for plain, £50.90 coloured. Each saves just over £5 compared to Pro-Bolt's price.

Or if you're still feeling a bit flush after Christmas how about tapered head titanium caliper mounting bolts?

Front:
Natural anodize: £40.60
Coloured anodize: £42.50
Rear:
£14.20 Natural
£15.20 Coloured

Again, free postage on a complete set of front and rear.

Not wishing to rain on Nooj's parade, but Chris has now started producing stainless pins for the 4-pad Brembo calipers. They will shortly be available on eBay, and will cost £15.75 per set of 4 and the price includes postage and packing.

Payment can be made directly via PayPal using email address info@shawstainless.co.uk or by sending cheque, postal order or cash to: Chris Shaw, 24 Station Road, Halton Holegate, Spilsby, Lincs, PE23 5PB.

I've ordered a set and will report back when they arrive.

Good price for stainless, which is why I didn't bother offering Pro-Bolt stainless ones, they'd be more expensive.

Got a choice of both materials now :-)

Finally got round to fitting them today, and the major difficulty was getting the old, corroded, mild steel items out. The new stainless ones slipped in like...

errrmm, well I'll leave you to find a suitable metaphor for a sweetly sliding in type of thing...
