What not to do with a full tank

Ah - you're ahead of me already aren't you :smt009

Was looking into the sticky throttle issue (now sorted) and raised the tank to check the cables. Noticed a rather strong smell of petrol and an interesting "peeing" sound. What's that pouring out of the bottom of the bike??

I didn't react immediately as there is often a small discharge from the filler cap overflow pipe when I tip up the tank. Water usually. This time though it was a full on flood of liquid gold pouring onto the carpet. (yes she does sleep on a carpet)

I guess the spring on the filler cap isn't all that strong. :smt009

Too late now, but always put a clean jam jar or similer under the rubber pipes when you lift the tank. Any thing that comes out can go gack in when the tank is back down. ( I usually forget though).

You need to be careful not to raise the tank to much as the fuel pipe can snag at the pump end and come adrift a certain owner I know did this whilst smoking :smt073
