Spark plugs, Oil and Filters

I am finally going to service my Falco, I have a trackday in March so want it done before then.
What sparkplugs do people use, apparently there are 2, the DCPR9E and DCPR8E, one is hot one is cold, whats the best one to use, also, what oil are people using, and what air filters are generally the best to use.

plugs and air filter i've not changed yet but the oil i use is putoline syntec 4 15/50 it is recomended for v twins.if you go any thinner you risk knackering your crank.

I think the 9's are the normally used plug's dunno if the 8's are hotter or cooler, but a spark plug site should give you the info.
I've swapped to irridium plugs. pricey, but shouldn't need changing for ages. Apparently gives about another 5 million bhp

I've got the Iridium plugs and not touched them for a good year at least but i will rip them out soon for an inspection
I'll let you know if there's any wear or not.
When changing the oil. Don't automatically buy the hot poop fully synthetic stuff, cos it's to slippy. It can make the clutch slip so i've been told.
So Just get a good make of semi-synthetic 15/50.
Just for info i was told this by the mechanics at Aprilia Lincoln so they should know whether it's true or not.

The good old fully V semi synthetic debate.
This one is as old as the hills and there is anecdotal evidence to support both camps. Let's not hijack this thread, I've started it off in a new one.
Let the mud slinging begin.

My local Aprilia dealer swears by this, but when had last major service done over a year ago, I got clutch slip first time out (10k miles) and started worrying about new clutch. It did get better but still occasionally had problems under load for next few months. 3k mls later I swapped to semi synthetic and have used it ever since. Now done over 19k miles and get no slip at all on original clutch, so made a real difference for me. I just keep changing oil every 3k or so. No problem at all once you get used to it, I find it easier than changing the external filter on the front of my old Honda.
