I was just looking through the workshop manual as my 14,000 mile service is due. The bike is also 4yrs old - so any specific 4yr items need doing too.
No real surprises as to what needs doing - a lot of it I've already done in recent weeks and oil change and brake/clutch fluid are the main things that remain .....

Every 4 years, replace all the fuel lines.

OK, I wasn't expecting that one ... but I'd better have a look at it - and I guess I might as well have the fuel pump out and change the fuel filter at the same time (that doesn't seem to have a specified service interval).

So, who has played the "change the fuel lines" game alreay?

• Any tips?
  Have you used Aprilia fuel lines or have you found some better quality lines at half the price (for example)?

Any feedback will be useful before I start buying bits.
TBH I really don't remember much being discussed on this subject.

Sounds to me like one of those recommendations that is more important in particular regions/climates.

Don't know if this helps but mine's eight years old and done 27k miles and my fuel lines haven't been changed twice, well not even once yet.

TBH it was unlikely that I would have bothered to change them - more of a fact-finding thread to see who has bothered to do them and, for when they really do need to be done, what hoses people have sourced for the job.

That said, I think that they are probably the sort of things that it would be wise to replace before they get to the stage of letting you down ... maybe after 6 or 8 years - or something.

wheel bearings every 5 yrs, ive had to have mine done on the rear , seemd like 1 day they were fine and the next day there was play, might be worth a look, only done 35k,
