Ok, I don't think this one has been answered before so:
Has anyone fitted a PCIII and found that the fuel consumption skyrocketed?
Fitted mine, went for a couple of little rides. Nothing (too) insane, just out into Kent for a few miles; no major traffic jams (as in, nothing out of the ordinary for riding in London)
Net result:
64 miles covered
12.5 litres used!!!!!!
I make that about 24 to the gallon and that's just too scary. Is it always gonna be like that or does the map need adjusting (it was set up pre-purchase for the Falco with after-market cans)?

When I first put my PC111 on I went from 105 miles to the light down to 80, but after a little trip to the Dyno I now get 135/145 depending on how I use the fun twisty thing.

Hey! that's worse than mine does! That has never happened before!
Seriously, though, try a different map (leaner?)

Are you getting lots of pops and bangs when tapping off?

Bit personal isn't it?

Nope, just a bit of grimacing and some mild jerky twitches.

Er, no (if I'm answering the right question

?)
Everything works fine, runs ok. Just the stunning level of fuel disappearing. Gotta admit, I'm really pleased to screw up the mpg at this time, I'd hate to have done it when petrol didn't have to paid for in gold...

Nah. Wouldn't be able to moan about it then!
Figure I need to get it on to a Dyno and done properly and chalk this one up in the 'Why do I ever think it will be cheaper if I do it myself?' box

Hi
I tried the standard map that came with the PC111, it was thirsty so I downloaded a falco map from powercommander .com and that was even worse so I got it sorted on a dyno.
But, I was speaking to a guy a few weeks ago (bumped into him in Spain) who had had the same fuel problem, he said he tried an early Mille map and while not perfect, it was much better. Might be worth a try, costs nothing.

I am currently using an early mille map
and yes, I do know it is running rich atm - but the fuel consumption is shite if i twist the loud grip....
I also want a dyno run
Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...

Just waiting to book mine in. Will let you know if fuel consumption drops below Bunter levels...

I'm also hoping to get my PCIII set up properly in the next few weeks.
I guess some Dynojet centres are better than others - does anyone know where the good ones are?
Also, if there are a few of us wanting this done, I wonder if there's anywhere central(ish) between us that might offer a "forum discount" if we were to go together?
Thoughts?

Good idea...
...but have just booked mine for tomorrow ..
Mind you, don't suppose you'd consider Bethnal Green 'central'?
Off to Banjax Motorcycles in the morning so should be able to tell you by Wednesday if it runs and by next week if I'm going to have to sell the bike to pay for the petrol!

Ok, picked the bike up this afternoon. Runs beautifully!
The dyno graph showed the bike returning a woeful 101.22 bhp before the tinkering began and a healthy 110.51 afterwards. It was running so rich that the power was being drowned below 3.5k and over 8.5k revs. Even filtering was a bit of a treat 'cos it stopped snatching and jerking at low revs.
Got a week in France coming up so reckon the £150 just spent should be recouped in fuel usage by the end of the holiday
Having said all that, coming home (even through the shitty London traffic), reminded me just how much I love this bike
