Cheese Bolts

Following on from my thread about my horn, I decided to change it tonight.
Infortunately its not as easy as I thought. I've already managed to round off the head on the bottom bolt of the cover, and neither of the top two bolts are showing any signs of moving.
So I've doused them all in GT85 and will try again tomorrow.
In the meantime any tips to get them moving?

Hi
I had this cover off on saturday to cure a short in the wiring to the horn, it was blowing a fuse everytime i pressed the horn. The cover came off dead easy though, allen bolts on mine (05 model).
As for getting tight bolts loose, use plenty of releasing oil and go slowly. It often helps to tighten the bolt slightly to crack the seal.

Or try giving each bolt a sharp tap with a hammer through hex socket and short extension bar first.
It's always best to try penetrating oil / sharp taps etc BEFORE rounding off the heads of stubborn bolts.

LOL - Cheese Bolts - I thought Gio had come up with a new sandwich filling!
.... and as the others said for trying to persuade the bolts to move ......

Use a wall drive socket (6 sided)
Almost impossible to round off heads with them (and they will remove bolts rounded by normal sockets)
