The horn on my Falco is knackered, I've heard it can be replaced with one off a VW Beetle. Any other suggestions of horns that will fit?

Thanks,

Phill

I've replaced mine with a huge nautilus style one. It sounds like a small lorry now :smt003

I tried a nuatilus style one, but it blew a fuse. Turns out it needs a relay as well.

I'd have thought any 12 v horn would do.

Do they not all have different fixing points though?

Ah Ha !! The flaw in my plan

To be honest I have no idea where my horn is anyway. Certainly no idea how the fixings look but surely most of them will be a horn bolted to a metal plate with a hole or 2 at the other end. As it's all out of sight you'll be able to get it to fit without too much trouble..... I imagine :smt017

Do you reckon one of these would work with the existing cabling etc?

That looks just the ticket - specially the chrome one with a ready rusted bracket :smt017

Seriously though - I bet it will just be 2 spade connectors to wire it in and if they are different size connectors to those on your loom it should be very straightforward to replace them with appropriate sized ones.

.........and you get a handy tin to keep the old one in !

If you want a quick buy, Halfords sell one at £9.99, not tried it myself.

Does anybody reckon you could fit a set of these behind the dash?

back_marker, the question is not could you fit them, but why on earth would you want to? I thought these went out in the 80's...
