side stand bracket
Has anyone tried the side stand bracket mod?
They are for sale on flea bay for £30 (seems a bit steep) and claim to increase the angle of lean. I pressume by having a slightly bigger angle. It would be an easy swap if it works, but I know some people have voiced concerns about the state of the existing stand, and say its bendy, (Havent noticed this myself). but this would put more wieght on the stand.
So anyone tried this method, or am I better ditching the stand?
Got to admit I like the idea because I have wondered about chaging just the stand and not the bracket, but couldn`t see it being a total cure. other option would be to try to put some extra bend in my bracket, but I think someone posted that this was bloody difficult.
your opinions please guys.

Do the search on http://www.apriliaforum.com Plenty of info. Personally I've got US side stand at this price, delivered. There was one guy that fitted VFR or VTR stand recently. 5GBP.

I have got RSVperkys sidestand adaptor and find it is perfect for the job wit the standard sidestand. However, I have recently upgraded the suspension and now it leans over to much. I am now considering a gsxr sidestand but still keeping the adaptor fitted.
You will find that everyone has there own opinium on the sidestand mod, you just have to go with what you feel is right for you

I like paddy tried the perky bracket route it's as he says, ok with a standard shock but no use if you upgrade the shock.
I fitted an RSV shock and increased the ride height, I also upgrade the spring rate.
In this case it's better keep the standard bracket and weld up your present stand or replace it all together with a Suzuki/Honda stand.
This was my solution as posted on the previous site.
I welded a larger foot on the stand and increased the length about 10-15mm to allow for the increase in rear ride height.
It cost very little and has the added benefit of not sinking into the tar in warm weather causing a fall.

I tried the side stand bracket and whilst it put the bike over at more of an angle the problem was that it sat the foot at an angle on the ground. So all the weight of the bike is going on to an even smaller foot area. During this summer I just caught the bike as the stand started to sink into some hot tarmac
. If you go for the adjuster it may be worth modding the foot of the stand.
Have now got a VTR srtand on the Falco original bracket it is alot better now, although there is a bit of flex in the stand.

Oh, and be careful if you're swapping the springs about - vicious gits, they are
Found it too difficult (and dangerous!) to assemble the stand & bracket, then attach the springs - seemed less hazardous, but more fiddly, to loop the springs on, then try and line up the stand & bracket and get the bolt through. Clamped the bracket in a vice and pushed the stand around until everything lined up and I could get the bolt in.
