what do you lot think regarding getting a new ish tyre repaired, ?

my tyre, rear Pirelli diablo, has only done 400 ish miles, and I noticed a very small panel pin type nail in the tread,
I pulled it out and .......... ssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss :smt012

it is bang in the centre in a thick part of the tread, I understand that the tyre standard is not to repair ZR tyres,
but it seems to be country dependant,

any professionals out there ? or anyone know for sure ?

ta, Skinny

It would not have been so bad, but this is my 3rd rear tyre puncture in a row,
1st brand new Dragon evo, punctured at Silverstone track day, ended up with a 2nd hand race tyre,
2nd eventually replaced race tyre with another nice new Dragon Evo,
then bang, ran over a huge 'R' clip, 1000 miles later, grrrrr

cheers, skinny

My Avons come with a free replacement if punctured within the 1st mm of tread (I think :smt017 )
Might be worth checking with Pirelli

I've had a few newish tyres repaired at tyre fitting shops and never had a problem, but always tend to scrap em if they a well worn.
Once did a fairly worn tyre as I was skint, got two more nails in it next time out! Never bothered since.

I have Avons on the Hornet and they do indeed to free replacement for punctured tyres.

Anyone here got Avons on their Falco? I've found them excellent on the Hooner, but I must admit the 020's that are on the Falco haven't filled me with super-confidence yet - but then I am still getting used to the bike.

Get it repaired.

Good as new, you'll never notice and soon forget it's there.
