Tilt switch

#1 Post by blinkey501 » Sun Dec 14, 2014 9:51 am

For those who don't know the location and what it does.

In the event the bike topples over or the bike is involved in an accident, the tilt switch stops the engine.

It is a key part of the ignition system, and can cause starting problems.

Usually the bike will start but cut out almost in an instant.

There have been cases when the bike has had the battery removed for renewing or changing.

If the bike does not continually run after the battery has been refitted and the tilt switch has been removed to enable access, there is a good chance that when the tilt switch has been refitted it will have been done but upside down.

Just pull the switch in its rubber holder off the locating peg and refit the right way up

The location of the switch is here.
