Perkys tilter thingy!

Having been the victim of the shocking side stand last year, (minimum damage though

), I have been watching the 'what sidestand mod' debate with interest. As most of the mods seem to involve some sort of cut and shut type welding wizardery...well outwith my modest, oh so modest capabilities I decided to give the tilter a try. I know this has been thrashed to death and I offer no apoligies for this post.....but what a great piece of kit this is! Instant relief can be had now, no worried backward glances as I walk away from the bike and no more expectations of carnage as I return to it.....I can relax

. £30 or so from the 'Bay, fits like a glove, a bargain methinks. I am running the standard shock, I suspect that those who have the Mille types might not have such a good result. Life is good...mind you it will be even better when the X ring chain and sproxs arrive.
P.S. are there any more of those funky rear lenses to be had, I was abroad during the feeding frenzy

I nearly bought one, cos like you, I ain't the best welder and don't have easy access to kit, but was not sure if it would work with a belly pan. That is without cutting major chunks out of it, specially now it is nicely sprayed up.
Ended up buying a Renegade tilter off ebay in stead, but never fitted as this looks to have even more major problems with the belly pan, (from Skidmarx), fitted.

The moral of the story? Get a Gixer stand instead; No welding required and you can still use the switch, (though my bellypan did require a bit o Dremelling to accomodate).

I got a GIXR stand attached to a renegade tilter or to quote Lemmy "Overkill" but it works well.

Yeh but do you have a belly pan, that is my main concern, as just spent a lot of time re-spraying mine up nicely and it looks like I will need to carve quite a bit out of it, if I fit the Rene tilter.
