Cheaper prices for small Aprilia parts

#1 Post by mangocrazy » Sun Feb 23, 2014 10:06 pm

I've needed to renew some of the small shouldered fasteners on the Falco (M5 x 9 and M5 x 12), but have always been put off by the extortionate price Prilia charge for these parts. I Googled AP8152339 (M5 x 9 shouldered bolt) and AP8152302 (M5 x 12 shouldered bolt) and found that Fowlers (www.fowlersparts.co.uk) were offering these parts quite a lot cheaper than the usual Aprilia suspects, possibly because they were listed as parts for Derbi scooters...

AP8152339 was 63p + VAT and AP8152302 was £1.12 + VAT; still not cheap but a lot better than (for example) UltimateParts.Net's prices - 91p + VAT for AP8152339. Also delivery was only £3.00 + VAT compared to UP's rip-off price of £7.66 +VAT.

I know it's not a huge amount saved, but I don't feel as ripped off as I do when forced to buy stuff from UP or similar.

It's the rip off postage that annoys me about ultimate parts.

Good info, thanks

I've never bought anything from them for that very reason. Use their website to find the part number and then buy from somewhere that has a more sensible postage policy.
