Sprag clutch.... Parts required

#1 Post by blinkey501 » Sun Sep 08, 2013 6:53 am

Your sprag clutch is part of the main starting mechanism on the Rotax engine that is fitted to your falco.
The main problems that occur is due to a flat or poorly maintained battery.
Your sprag clutch relies on a centrifugal force to engage, to allow the operation of the teeth to grip two surfaces and thus start the engine.
A poorly maintained or flat battery will not allow the engine to spin up quickly, which in turn does not allow the teeth of the sprag to engage correctly or in simple terms "Fling out".
Before you attempt to change your sprag clutch you will need parts.
These is the cheapest place I know where you can buy your parts.
This is a list of where you can buy your parts to do the task yourself. Some the information is courtesy of D Rider.
Griif from Aprilia performance sells the sprag clutches at around the same money as on Ebay. 01827285500.
If griff doesn't have a sprag in clutch.

When you have done the sprag clutch you will need one of these to prevent further problems.
