Another thing to look out for once you've solved your current dilemma is the chain alignment. If the sprocket is thinner then it is likely that it is in a different position to the original and might not be in line with the front sprocket and put more strain on the chain and cause more wear?

Thats also an issue, but I dont think that it will be that much of a problem. If I mount the sprocket with the flat surface to the wheel, the distance from the wheel to sprocket is just the same as before....right..?
But as it is now the alignent could be a bit wrong atlest when the sprocket is tight to the wheel..!

Went to the garage yesterday, had to find out what was wrong. And all I can say is that the thing was the thickness of the new sprocket. I installed the old one and checked and..TADA! :smt003 The sprocket sat tight against the wheel and the bolts had some more freeplay (but not that much...)
So I will use the old sprocket, since it is not that bad at all. The new sprocket will be used when I have made a spacer for it... :smt001

Thanks for all your help, very appreciated! :smt026

The sprocket against wheel:

Distance from bolts to swingarm (still quite tight..)

Absolutely correct, Sweden it is! :smt006 West coast, fairly close to Gothenburg, to be precise. Spring has just come so the bike is supposed to be back together this weekend, just have to change the oil+filter, front tyre, get the chain back on and... :smt004

Dont know if there`s anyone else from Sweden in here, at least not from what I have seen...?!
