How would some of you guys like a plate pre cut and drilled ready to take a filter of your choice.
I am sorting one out for myself and also one for Sebastion. I have got the template sorted and the 'correct' hole cutter that allows for the oil seals to be inserted properly. Seb can tell you if it is any good when he gets his. I am estimating around £10 to £15 each which will cover materials and a smidge for my time and effort.

Sorry guys this is turning out to be a nightmare :smt013 :smt011 so I am gonna nip this in the bud now. Maybe it is the material that I am using but I have been on it all night and not even half way there. If I can lay my hands on some decent plastic I will start again.
I will let you know

Sorry to hear that, P.

I'm far from an expert but every time I started doing something from plastic it was turning into a nightmare (if not dust then melting, if not that then cracks etc etc) :smt013 :smt013 :smt013

That's why I like metal, you know exactly what to expect... Aluminium plate, I think 3mm (or 4 just in case) would be perfect. Easy to cut, light, polishable :smt004 , and you could bend it if needed. I think it would resist fractures better than plastic but there are so many plastics now - I'm not sure.

The only thing is that - being a guest in UK - I have no clue where to get an appropriate aluminium sheet. Any ideas gentlemen?

Paddy, I just had a striking idea.
What you say to have it laser cut out of aluminium plate by someone (I mean CNC place) following your pattern? I mean once you know it fits? Ordering 10 or so and selling them on with minimal profit to cover your costs and effort involved?
It would need to be for members only, otherwise Renegade guys may be p1ssed and do some stupid things :smt014

Now tell me I'm not a genius. :smt003 :smt003 :smt003

This looks... Well... Frankensteinish... :smt005 But I bet it works. Does the foam sits directly on top of the trumpets or is there some space?

The foam is held off the trumpets by a big oval spring type thing otherwise I think the whole shooting match would be sucked into the trumpets.
