HaHa ... spare Falco oil tank already sourced (got a Mille one too) - yeah hiding these things from "the powers that be" can be a challenge ......Aladinsaneuk wrote:suggest buying a spare oil tank to sort - then it could all be done in one hit....
he says with bits of falco all over the place as he completes a few more mods... and my son is finding his mattress a little lumpy with some of the custom bits I have hidden from the wife.....
How do you tell which wheels are which?

The truth is out......this info from AF1 racing...............
They are the MGT forged aluminums.
OZ Racing Italy has stopped all motorcycle wheel production and aprilia ran out of them sometime in 06-07.
All the new Factory bikes are coming with the MGT wheels. They look identical to the OZ. The blue OZ from a new bike is not available anymore, so if you have a set of true OZs from your 04-08RSVR, 07 Tuono Factory, the only replacement is the MGT wheels.
Real OZ wheels have the OZ logo on them, and yours also say MT just like the new Tuono Factories we have on the floor.
Aprilia owns the design, so they just switched manufacturers when OZ quit making them.
1st gen OZ wheels are darker, appear painted, and are for the "old" frame bikes 98-03 Mille, 02-05 Tuono for non-radial brakes
2nd gen OZ wheels are brighter blue, anodized, for the "new" frames 04-08 RSVR, and 06-08 Tuono, and are made for the radial front brakes
So now we all know

I've spent 50% of my life riding motorcycles, the rest I've wasted!
Just found this comparison of the weights of the various rims that Aprilia fitted.
Seems that those 2-oh-no riders with the cast OZ-look-alike wheels could upgrade to the standard Brembos with some benefit!
From my measurements, I guess my OZ wheels are probably 9 & 10 on the list below

To add to the list:
BST Carbon front: 2.6 Kg
BST Carbon rear: 4.15 Kg (approx)
Though a lot of the weight is in the aluminium hub so gyroscopic forces should be better than weights alone suggest.
