#1 Post by snapdragon » Sat Jun 02, 2012 11:23 pm

I being way too much a shortarse to be riding this beastie (well riding is fine - it's just the stopping ))))))))
have scooped the seat and bought a pair of lurch boots ;)

I need to work out another way to shorten the height and wondered if a shorter shock was available (preferably remote adjustable) or different dogbones or sommat

any ideas, suggestions or remedies?

There are all sorts of kits out there. M&P do one.
Google 'lowering a pegaso'. :smt002

In spite of the cost of living, it's still popular.

Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...

There is/was a German company offering lowering kits for a range of Aprilias; they have/had an e-bay shop. Sorry I can't be more precise

Edit.

Seems to suggest it's the same part for the BMW F650; might be possible to get a BMW part cheaper through, eg, Motor Works/ Motobins?

Asks Revs suspension if they know anything. When I was there he reckoned he could knock a couple of inches off most bikes. They do ER6s and they don't have a linkage on the back to fiddle with. He also said they could lower a GS1200 adventure by 5 inches.

Hmm looks like I need to sell some family members, and no - neither surgery nor Nooj's hacksaw is currently an option :smt019

Just a thought. A bloke at work has an F650CS beemer. Don't know how many parts they have in common but it's low and his came with a shock with remote preload adjustment.

pretty sure all the 650 beemers have the rotax engine, but for cycle parts I thought only the funduro was the same :smt017 I do know that parts sold as BMW are well cheaper than those sold as aprilia though :smt011

I shall 'ave a look :smt001
