I also use an NWS Ultipro, not cheap but very sturdy, then in the past I have sometimes hung the front off a garage beam using a rope on the steering head, this lets you get the front wheel out. More recently simply stuck a trolley jack under the front of the engine using a rubber pad. Was sat like that for 10 days recently. Can also work on front forks this way.

Stupid question, and I would try it myself except that my bike is at work hidden from vandals at the moment, but cant you load the abba stand from the other side, i.e. stick the L-shaped part of the stand from the right, to pivot the bike backwards and raise the front wheel instead of the back wheel?

No I don’t think so, the pivot point would stay the same and the front is the heaviest end . :smt009

I use the Abba if I want to raise the front wheel, I put my trolley jack cup under the oil tank with a piece of old rubber carpet underlay between it's easy adjustable and your not lifting that much weight, of course you can't do this if you have a belly pan which is why I haven't fitted one :smt003

How about one of these :smt020

Yes, I've lifted with a trolley jack from under the oil tank and I can live with the 5 mins it takes to remove and refit the bellypan ..... I guess when I get a few years older I may value those 5 mins more than I do now ! :smt064 (sorry - cheap jibe - and I'm not so far behind you ...)

As for the Air Jack, I can just see me having to mend the puncture it has picked up before I can use it to fix the puncture my bike / car / whatever has picked up !
