What's a fair price for a mille swingarm with hugger?

#1 Post by Nooj » Wed Jan 31, 2007 1:40 pm

I know of one going for £185 including postage, It looks to be in very good condition, but still seems a bit steep to me, any opinions from those who've already got them?

Hmmm... seems a bit OTT to me. I paid £90 plus a tenner for postage about 2 years ago. The swinger was excellent & came with the chain guard, guide and pipe guide but without hugger. That said, I'm a bit out of touch on prices for these now.
The ride is the reason ........ the destination is just the excuse.

In the autumn I bought a Mille swinger - with the obligatory dink where it came into contact with the pipe - no great damage but a bit of filler and paint will be needed. The plastic thingy that stops the chain rubbing on it was included - along with a couple of stand bobbins.
That came in at about £50 - but, as I say, was fair condition but not pristine.

I also picked up a set of the plastics - hugger, chainguard, toeguard - but no brake pipe carrier (still need one of those).
They came in for less than £20 inc delivery.

- sorry - can't remember the exact prices - they've dropped out of the things stored in My eBay and I'm in Sweden today so no print outs at hand (assuming I've still got those).

Hope this helps a bit.

Thanks guys, I think I'll leave this one. Not that fussed about doing the mod, but if the parts come up for the right price I may give it a go.

Nooj,

Just keep looking, it took me a good few months to find mine. I ended up paying £80 and getting the linkages / spindle / new chain (still attached) and all the covers inc chain guard etc.. included (No hugger mind)

The guy selling it told me he never thought he'd get a buyer for it (mind you this was 2yrs ago) So bargains are still out there to be had

Paid £50 for mine a couple of years ago, complete with usual dent, so then paid another £50 to get it knocked out and polished.

Came with no plastics, so got them from Aprilia. Watch the huggers, they go for more on eBay than cost new (about £20 I seem to recall).
They call it mellow yellow.

Condition is everything.
They do get scratced easily, not to mention dents from a "down".
I know that CWalker has some profesional repaired 04 swingers in stock, give him a call if youre interested.
