UNDER CONSTRUCTION LED Indicators

POST CURRENTLY BEING CONSTRUCTED

People often encounter problems when fitting LED indicators.
The following explains how this can be done for Aprilias with the instrument cluster shown - although the general principles apply to the majority of motorcycles.

1 Litre Rotax-powered Aprilias have an indicator system that utilises 12V, 10W filament bulbs for the indicators and an Indicator Relay to make them flash. If you are not sure how an Indicator Relay works, click HERE

Standard Indicator Circuit: (Ignoring fusing):

The standard circuit comprises a flasher relay an indicator switch, 4 indicator filament bulbs and a repeater bulb in the instrument pack that shows you whether the indicators are working.
The Indicator bulbs are rated at 12V, 10W (they will each have a nominal resistance of about 14 ohms)
The Repeater bulb is rated at 12V, 3W (it will have a nominal resistance of about 48 ohms)
