I've gone for 8x6 and I think it looks about right. Not too small to attract attention

Mine is 7.5 x 6 which seems just right to me. Not so small as to attract attention but lots better than the legal one.

Stupidly I ordered one for my DRZ but went on memory of the size and ended up with 7 x 5 which even on that bike looks too small. I feel conspicuous when I pass coppers so will probably get a bigger one.

I think that a slightly larger plate (like 7.5 x 6) allows the use of bigger letters which aren't such a piss take.

As for the Falco - I can't go much smaller that 7.5" wide due to the solt hole centres on the tail tidy.

Motorcycles registered on or after 1 September 2001 must display a two-line number
plate number plate. Motorcycles registered prior to the 1 September 2001 may display a
three-line plate, but one-line plates are illegal, irrespective of the date of registration of
the motorcycle.

So - as I remamber it, a new law came in on Nov 1 2008 making it illegal to supply anything other than legal plates. No more 'show' plates.

A quick look on fleabay tells me it's business as usual.
