Had a mental few nights recently lashing the Falco back together in preparation for a demo ride against various anti-bike stuff the Victorian Government has up its sleeve.
Didn’t have the time to have a test run and a couple of niggles appeared on the ride. Your input would be gratefully received.
Found a little puddle of oil under the bike, but seems to be from the scottoiler rather than the front rocker, which was a bugger to reseat. Where am I likely to see any oil that might be leaking from the rocker covers, particularly the front (cam position wire isn’t the culprit).
New wavey discs with new pads are pulsing so bad that on the final roll up to a stop I’m using the rear (new wavey and pads too) to come to a halt. The front snatches to a stop. I cleaned the callipers and the pistons were moving smoothly. I cleaned the new disks before putting them on. I torqued down all the bolts in a nice crisscross pattern. A couple of the rotor buttons didn’t have full movement and I’ll look at these, any other ideas?
Lastly – I put my new super-dooper LED stop/tail/indicator boards into the rear lights, dashboard Dioide mod and an electronic flasher unit and all worked fine with std front indies. Put on some stick on strip LED indicators in place of the fronts and all worked nicely. But with the engine running the fronts only light up (and flicker) one or two of the LED’s instead of all 6 (rears are fine)? Can’t quite figure the reason as there must be plenty more volts and amps hurtling about with the engine running than on the battery?
Help - Thought's, advice, random ramblings anyone

Sorry Dale, can't be too much help on most of this.
Have you still got an oil leak now you've sorted the Scottoiler, or just covering all the bases.
Never had a leak on the front rocker cover but would, guess it would end up dropping just behind the oil cooler, so could look like it had come from the cooler itself or the feed pipes. Either way it would end up in the front of the belly pan if you have one.
Reckon with the new disks and free pistons, the rotor bobbins must be favourite. Although last time mine got a bit bunged up I didn't get any pulsing, probably worse if just a couple are bunged up and the others floating as they should do. Would be the starting point for me.
As far as snatching goes, mine snatches quite badly with the original disks and new HH sintered pads, have to be really gentle with them compared with standard pads at low speeds. Have had similar pads before and not been as bad as these, at higher speeds it's fine, you just get more bite and less fade, just have to be very careful when going slowly.
Can't help on the electrics I'm afraid.

Hi Dale .... sorry - still not looked at your last electrical question - spending all my time trying to stop mine backfiring now that I've changed the exhaust!
Now this is from the top of my head ... but seem to remember something about potential oil leaks from where the camshaft sensor wire runs through the head. Not sure which pot this is on - but might be worth a look.

Cheers Gents,
Pretty much dumped the beast in the garage and not had a look since the weekend. Howard's pretty much confirmed my suspicions on the discs and oil.
Andy, The relay/HID issue was down to the battery not able to cope. The arrangement I put in is working as I hoped when the motor's running. The LED's are a pain though and I need to chuck a multimeter at it to get more info on the problem.
