VTR Conversion done

#1 Post by xrphil » Sat Jan 27, 2007 4:42 pm

Put a VTR stand on this morning, a very easy job. and it does make a difference.
although it is a little far forward, I think I will leave it like that, as it needs all the lean it has.
The stand flexs a little, but as it feels pretty sturdy I`m not to worried.
worth £22, just for the piece of mind.

Couldn't agree more. I couldn't do it quick enough. The orig. stand gave me the willies but now I'll leave her anywhere.... Well almost.
I too find the angle a tiny bit extreme. May pack it out with a spot of weld sometime.

only prob is she cut out twice when out on it today, once revs dropped to zero. then kicked in again. 2nd time cut out EFI flashing, wouldn`t start, turned it of then on again, fine from there.
suspect either sidestand switch, or killswitch. just don`t like waiting for it to happen again.
thinking of changing side stand switch to light on dash only.
anyone done this and disabled the cut off?
will look on old forum when i get time tommorow, as i`m sure someone will have.

I think if you put a jumper across the two outside wires on the connector block (just under the left side of the frame, jump the blue/green and brown/green wires), this should do it. I chopped the switch out and jumped these two wires (meaning I lost the light as well), but I don't see any reason why the switch couldn't remain with the jumper in place?
