Chaps,
Im getting confused about all this,
Book says 15w50 semi synth - bloody difficult to get and bloody expensive
Spoke to a local dealer he said "hogwash" just use standard 10w40
Last service they used 10w40
Bike is running great just want to freshen everyrhing befor Mugello in 2 weeks, is there a down side to 10w40 are there any brands I should aim for?
Also anybody recommend an oil filter as local shop £11.00
Ebay £2.99 + 1.99 post
Help

I used 10/40 for all the time I had the Falco with no probs. I did change the oil on a very regualr basis mind (about every 2,500 miles) and used Putoline DX4 then.
You can get a semi-synth Putoline 15/50 oil called "Force 4" which I'm told is a good oil at a very reasonable price. (less than £20 for 4 litres)

Fully synth with no problems at all, was using the torque a lot in the alps two weeks back, no slip.

Clay cross powersports put 10w40 in mine at the first service, and before the second service it was all gone.
Have used Putoline 15w50 semi ever since.

i got an original aprilia one from ultimate parts for £6.71, but I was getting some other bits otherwise P&P would make it expensive.
i usually buy filters when getting other stuff and keep them till i need them, for this reason.

£11 for a filter is a ripoff.
I get mine from M&S newcastle who arent normally cheap and a genuine aprilia filter is £7.21. I know the exact price cos I always keep 2 spares and the price is still on them
I just buy any branded semisynth as its not in long enough to worry about cos if it needs topping up i just change the oil and filter.
