15w/50 semi is what Aprilia recommend, I'll stick with that when mine needs changed.

a search could be helpful

BUT

a late - 2002+ falco will - it seems - run fine on full synth

an early falco will slip on anything but semi synth

aprilia issued an advisory in 1999 that bikes that had an issue with clutch slip could use 10/40 semi synth

I use 10/40 semi synth

BUT

i di use a quality bike specific oil

Just a couple of small technical corrections

* not all early bikesl slip on fully synth
* they almost certainly won't slip on mineral oil (though I doubt that mineral oils are top of anyone's list as service times

ok

my falco is an early one and when i used full synth oil it slipped more than a bottle of grecian 2000 falling towards the trousers of a liverpool supporting coventry city season ticket holder living in the midlands....

at least you lot finish a game with 11 players on the pitch - we have a new 10 man handicap system....

We may have 11 on the pitch but I think a lot of them are wandering around looking for their seats amongst the rest of the supporters.

ahhh - our opponents team often ends up in those seats.... Pugh looks a nice young man but my god he can be a right thug... and as for Brown - its the ball you are meant to put into row z.....

Looked to me like he was intent on kicking the ball(s). :smt009

Silly thing about oil is that Aprilia do not admit to any changes on the bikes that could account for this!
Mine is a 2001, (i.e. after the 2000.5 model changes which were the only major changes ever made supposedly, other than the late changes from Showa forks when money got tight at Ricoh around 2004 ish.).
Mine slips badly on fully synth, but is fine on semi.

actually Howard, your bike is not a 2001 - that was when it was registered.... it would have been made in 1999 or 2000 - the plate under the saddle will tell you it exactly....
