Oil

Having noticed the comments on the ARSite about oil in Falco's (I presume its the same on Mille's). I thought mmm sounds like my GS a bit. If you go for a ride and stick your bike straight onto the centre stand there's no oil left in the sump, totally weird imo, but its cos its a hrizontal engine and the oil gets caught behind the engine baffles.

What you have to do is put it on the side stand for 5 mins to allow the oil to drain down.

Oh and never fill it above the half way mark on the glass, you just dump it out the xaust. I used to fill it up when it was new and within 500 miles it was down to the halfway line.

When I went to Italy last October, in 2600 miles it didn't need any oil added. :smt003

I've no idea how it does it, I presume there might be a drain fitted somewhere that gets rid of it, I do know that they had a few problems with early models leaking when it was full up and it used to leak on peoples boots, which imo is asking for trouble as it could blow back onto the rear wheel.

opposed twins are agricultural when they have under 8k on them, it takes that long to smooth out.
