Falco valve clearance checking

Bikes just ticked over to 9000 odd miles, so the valve clearance check is coming up, now I do all other servicing myself, but this seems a little........involved.
Has anyone here done it themselves?, is it a pig of a job and best left to a stealer?, if so, how much do they sting you for it?

I' checked mine myself and like most others it seems, they didn't need adjusting and were exactly the same as they were 9000 miles earlier. It is a fiddley not diffucult job to check them, so allow plenty of time and use a good set of small sockets. If you try cheap & nasty ones they can have so much play you wont have space to click the ratchet.
Also when re assembling, I'd advise some gasket goo around the sensor wire otherwise you might like me, have to refit the covers again to fix a small oil leak.

Worth remembering that the engine needs to be absolutely clap cold. If you do it yourself, do them the day after you ride home.
However if your dealer rings you to say it's ready the same day you dropped it off, they haven't done them. A dealer will need 2 days to do the job properly
