King Bearing / Speed Encoder - There is a fix!

#1 Post by D-Rider » Wed Sep 26, 2018 9:18 pm

Yes, just seen this on Facebook - someone has just built a new speed encoder external to the hub which allows a couple of standard bearings to be used in the hub.
This is BIG news.

Hopefully more details will come available soon.

I have a spare king bearing so am fairly safe but for those that don't have, this could be very reassuring.

Not much point TBH.
A chap has posted that he has done it, posted a picture of the finished item and there have been a number of comments congratulating him and asking if he took pictures showing the process - which he didn't.
Until we get picture hosting sorted properly on here, I can't really show much more.

This I'd like to see. Which bike is being referred to? I rebuilt my Aprilia RST with stock bearings but lost the speedo in consequence. Ive tried hard to think of a way of mounting something externally but so far it's beaten me. Sprocket is I guess the best bet.
