Think a set of my streetfighters might need re packing as they sound like they have loose bits in them
So how do I know for sure?
What's involved?
And bearing in mind I have the mechanical talent of a goose where's a good bet to get it done ?

I did a set of mine a few years back and they were pretty easy.
Drill out the rivets holding the end caps on and pull all the internals out, keeping track of what goes where.
I used stainless steel wire wool as the 1st layer next the perforated pipe then wrapped that in exhaust packing material.
Stuff the lot back in, I made mine pretty tight fitting, then put the end caps back on and re-rivet.
I used stainless steel rivets, but if I was doing it again I'd use aluminium as I'm not looking forward to drilling the S/S ones out if I have to do it again.
Here's alink to my writeup.
