Introducing a new transmitter fob to a Meta alarm

Has anybody had to do this themselves? I just received the new one and it comes with instructions BUT they don't make complete sense to me.
I'll ring the "local" (ha ha) dealer on monday to see if they can talk me through it but would still like any tips.
