Evening all
I'm currently swapping out the seal on the generator cover, in the hope (at Blinkey's suggestion) that this is the source of an oil leak. A previous service mentioned that there was a weep from the cam chain tensioner seal, unfortunately there's too much oil to see exactly where it's coming from. So going to change the stator gasket (as I've got that handy) and see.
Two questions:
How easy is it removing the cam-chain tensioner to replace the seal? Does it need re-tensioning, torqued up to a set value, or something else?
Second, while I've got various bits off the side of the bike, is there anything worth checking/sorting while I'm there?

Which tensioner? there is one for each cylinder.
Both are easy to do its just a bit fiddly to get to.
You have to remove the entire airbox, partially drain the coolant so you can remove a coolant pipe to give access to the rear cam chain tensioner. Can't remember the exact requirement for the front one.
You'll need some flexible socket joints and extension bars to remove the plugs holding the cam chain tensioners in. replace the seal, replace and tighten the plug. The tensioners are hydraulic, and do not need adjusting or even removing for that matter.
I think the plugs need tightening to 50nm, but definitely check the service manual before hand.

Found the one on the rear cylinder on the bike, looks fairly easy, but of course that's not on the side of the bike with the leak! Couldn't find the front one, look obscured by various bits so unless it's obvious with the airbox off, looks like it might be awkward. Think I'll just do the generator seal for now, and see what happens.

This image shows the cam chain tensioner assembly on the rear cylinder (parts 9,10,11). You can also see where it slots into the engine.
It isn't shown on the diagram, but there is also the same parts for the front cylinder. In fact, where the number 10 is, run the mouse directly down the diagram and the first part of the engine you get to is where the front cylinder cam chain tensioner is located.
