My pipe - called, for a reason I've never discovered, the H-pipe, replaces the heavy collector box/catalytic converter, aka the breadbox.

The pipe, No. 10, is he front header; the 1st. of the three pipes at the rear connects to the rear header.
It's much lighter, with after-market cans it improves the gas flow, and adds 5 bhp. Allegedly. And sounds much, much nicer.

Very shiny! How long did it take? And how come you didn't do the stand bracket/stop as well?

I'm hoping it'll last this year. I'll replace it with a stainless bracket over the winter. I've had enough of it for now.Nooj wrote:Very shiny! How long did it take? And how come you didn't do the stand bracket/stop as well?
The Optiglanz treatment only takes a few minutes. The hand buffing took, I think, around 2 hours (would have been quicker with mops & a satin paste, but I didn't have a mop at that stage), and about 1 1/2 hours with the rouge.
I'm probably giving the misleading impression I know what I'm talking about with this. Far from it - never done it before. My welder/fabricator friend Mark is a real anorak with metal-bashing, welding & finishing, & is a brilliant teacher. I could get quite into this stainless polishing thing - it's quite gratifying, in the same way that sanding a rough piece of hardwood to a silky, glass-smooth finish is.
I like shiny. I'd quite like to get the whole bike like this

1 connects to the front cylinder header, 2 to the rear header, 3 to the pipe to the LH can, and 4 to the pipe to the RH can
