He's all ready given an original fast Falco swing arm. They work so much better when they're straight....blinkey501 wrote:Aladinsaneuk wrote:wandered into the local bike stealers today and lucked onto a bargain
they were selling off LED resistor sets for £2.54 a pair - even if i do not use them, i acquired a couple of sets just in case.....
and some new parts arrived today from the griffmeister....
and the new swing arm is on its way.... yes, i may be a fat slow bastard but, the bike is having the swing arm off a uk champions bike....
I will have to paint it black to make it even faster!

forks are back
now, couple of interesting things - i have never serviced the forks - but
i examined the seals etc that had come out - one leg had a newer seal - as in had less wear. the technician confirmed that one leg's fluid was newer
both legs were low in volume
there was a discrepancy of 60ml in each leg volume
both legs had sludge in them
i paid 170 for the service, new seals and dust seals
i look forward to seeing the difference

Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...

Hmmm I spot a problem there, Aladinsane and centrifugal force.Aladinsaneuk wrote:oh yes - i had noticed that the bike felt different on left and right corners - not just down to the centrifugal forces or what ever - right handers were smoother....
So why are right hand bends smoother than left ones?

in my case- the right hand fork leg had a decent seal, with a higher volume of newer fluid
and re centrifugal force - i could well mean vortex or some or physics term .....

LOL - sorry , no
they changed both seals etc
i actually could see the difference between the two sets of seals
I am guessing that before i bought the bike - 5 years ago, some one had changed one seal - for what ever reason

hope you are all sitting down....
today, I have been cleaning assorted bike bits - and the renegades have had some attention
they are titanium - I think, so was not sure where to start with them - the best solution I have found was p600 wet and dry with WD40 - am pleased with the results so far....
next stage will be autosol and elbow grease....
