My mate takes 2 spare pistons for his rs250 wherever he goes :)

Won't work - it will just pour through one of the transfer ports / exhaust port and tell you nothing about the piston.
Besides, In his first post, he tells us he has compression.

ola fellas, Well i just finished removing the top part of the engine. There are no scuffs/scratches/gauges down the piston or the barrel, the crank etc seems to move perfectly fine and from what i can see is that it is in perfect running order..

So if its not the engine. Im getting a spark, and compression. Could it be anything to do with the cdi/ecu?

as u can tell im not the best mechanic.

thanks.

Dunno. Paul may have another idea. Apart from heating the plug up before putting it in and firing it up, Im all out of ideas without having the bike in front of me.

If we dont get much further, register and ask on www.motoforum.net It's where all the uk racers hang out. There's loads of two stroke gurus on there, just ask politely!

Possible, but if you are getting a spark it wouldnt be my 1st thought. If you can get hold of one to swapover temporarily it may be worth a go - or find if there is an easy way to test it

Only other things that come to mind are head gasket - but you should have noticed this when you took the head / barrel off, or possibly timing.

If its got a carb it may be worth stripping that down and checking all jets are clear, and needle is OK (but that wouldnt cause overheating AFAIK)

Apart from that I'm at a loss.

You may get a bit of help or a few other ideas on

ok.

Heres what im going to do in the following days.

No.1 totally clean my engine (etc)
No.2Check all my wire'ing
No.3 Clean my carb Fully
No.4 Pray

If that dunt work, i mite just opt for doing what i done last time this happened, Buying a new engine or complete engine rebuild :/
