Cheers mate.. Made me chuckle. Good old Ogri.

For some strange reason, suppliers in this country don't seem to give much of a toss about the quality of the items they sell. You'd expect a bit of variation over the years with some re-produced parts, but bearings should be one of the things you'd expect to be right.. Right? Appears not. Another bearing from another supplier has been sourced and is on its way. What's pissed me off more, is the total lack of care given from the original supplier.. It's almost as though they think they can afford to sell naff stuff.

Crank and cams are in.. That's pretty much it for the bottom end.
Cam gears and cylinder tomorrow, then sort the head out. Gearbox to chuck back in, and other sundries, and that'll be done. Sounds easy, right?

Barrels have come back from being re-bored and honed to size, plus a fresh slap of shiny black powdercoat.
Just the tappet blocks to whack back in, and that'll be another piece of the puzzle ready to go back in.

Really have enjoyed this diary / rebuild
Thanks will
Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...

More progress!
Gearbox is in. After a bit of faffing around and remembering how to do it, it went in ok.
And also..
The fancy new optical ignition system has arrived from the USA. It actually got here on the 17th June, but Parcel Farce being the idiots they are, got the address wrong for their little bar-code label thing. No one bothered to look at the TWO address labels on the box, one of which was a US customs decleration! Still, it's here now.
A slight set back in that I need to get another tappet guide block for the exhaust side. But, the cylinder head(s) have been welded up.. Just a bit of finishing and that'll be ready too.. Soooo close now. It may not look it from where you're sat..

Time to get some cycle parts fitted.
13-07-13
Fitting the front forks. Can any of you spot the deliberate mistake?
Forks are in.
And after I'd put
all of the bits in the gearbox, I stuck the inner cover on.
Have decided that the rear mudguard needs replacing. Something else to add to the list!

Pistons are now mated with the rods. Not a big task, but another done. Cylinder base studs are nicely Loctite'd in.
Now don't get too excited. The light at the end of the tunnel is still a fair way off.. Although there is the occasional glimmer. Wheel and guard are in for me to measure up the length of the stays I require.
New rear mudguard waiting to be eyed-up for drilling. Let's hope I don't get it cock-eyed!
And as a foot note.. It's like a fookin oven in there!

It's looking good now Will, just need a few more chilled bottles and cans around to alleviate your "
overheating problems".
