Andy willl know how it all fitted together.
Ah yes - I remember. For Dale I did a simplified version of the one that I posted up in the Aprilia Technical section of the forum.

Yeah i read that one a while ago, very useful.

In your initial reply you never mentioned a relay, not wishing to open a can of worms but what does the relay do? My initial approach has been used for the front 12v socket for 18 months now with no probs, the rear one will just be for occasional charging up of radio/mp3/phone, so should be okay (it's my only Winter project this year, saving the other stuff for Griff!)

I didn't mention it as you just asked how to connect up a certain set of components.

The relay is useful if you want to separate the feed from other things and to control it so that it is turned off when the ignition is off (so you don't leave it powering things by mistake and flatten the battery).
However, there could be times when you do want to power it while the ignition is off - horses for courses.

For the avoidance of doubt and for the benefit of my wife, not everything I may say here will be absolutely true I may on ocassion embellish a little for effect.
That said when it comes to motorbikes, I like to ride side saddle with a nice frock
