Finally time to start sorting the Fut ready for this years biking onslaught.
Have bought a new battery. One of which I've not heard of before, but appears to promise good things. Has a good rating, and according to the book, is an identical fit to OEM.. Am yet to fit it, so can't brag too much about it.

Bought via eBay.. Free postage.

Most motorcycle problems are caused by the nut that connects the handle bars to the saddle.

Had to take mine to Swinton motorcycles as it just wasn't running right, 73bhp at the rear wheel on the dyno?
When the problems were resolved he put it back on the dyno to set things up.
He reackons it is right on song and back to the original power It displaced when new, so I am well happy. I collect it Saturday

Tolerance will be our undoing.

Blimey. That's a fair old drop in power, that. Any idea what the issues were?

Wouldn't rev past 7000rpm
Fuel pressure was low. Butterfly flaps were not seating properly and the cat wanted cleaning out.
All the above problems are now resolved. I will post up when I talk to him Saturday the route causes.

Cool. Thanks to Mart, mine is cat-less. One less thing to hamper performance..

I thought your Fut had a really snazzy Tigcraft exhaust, Jay? Surely that didn't have a Cat on it?

I removed the mid pipe and refitted the cat as the bike was too loud Graham. It sounded horrible.
It would probably be ok with baffles fitted to the silencers, but none came with the cans.

Yeah - Tigcraft have a reputation for making very loud exhaust systems...

The StainTune system on mine sound brilliant even with the baffles in. My old Falco was obnoxiously loud.. But those Renegades.. mmmm

While you're fettling, it might be an idea to wash that BMC air filter. IIRC, it's done about 11,000 miles. Recommended interval. 15,000 km.

Pulled the air filter t'nite and noticed it was looking rather.. Well, full.

Shall give it a rinse and chuck it back in.
Spark plugs are done. Gapped properly with a little anti-seize on the thread. Not copper slip. It's a PTFE based goop we use on the waterjets.
