Not sure what parts yet till I get it looked at, possibly shaft drive innards.

Just in case anyone knows anyone who's breaking a GT!

Ferkin ell! But if that's what it takes.........

Gonna try and find someone who can fit it in first, if I can get the bloke who did it before he knows where to source reliable secondhand parts - or even make them if necessary.

Cradley Kawasaki have been in the game a long time, they sometimes have new old stock. Might be worth asking them when you know what you need.

Give http://www.gpzzone.co.uk/gpzzone/index.htm an email.
Although they deal wih God's own kawasakis, Im sure they will have a contact number for someone in the trade who deals with GT's. They may even have stuff themselves, theyre all Kawasaki nuts :smt002

Next door neighbour (old school car nmechanic) had a look today and thought it was gearbox related not back end. Then a local sidecar enthusiast came round and had a bit more of a look and twiddle and agreed, he thinks it may be selector fork problem, which is not good news.

He gave me a number for a small local bikeshop who he says is one of the few he woiuld trust so I'll phone them tomorrow and mention his name. Jerry says, and I agree, it may be cheaper in the long run to swop the complete lump than start disassembling and replacing bits. It's just sourcing the lump that may be a problem, he said he'd phone a few people and see if anyone has anything useful. He's quite well known and knows lots of people so I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Doesn't really seem likely I'll get it done in time for Shetland though so I'm preparing myself for disappointment while keeping everything crossed!

Cheers for all the info people!

The trike's being collected today to go to a local repair shop and I'll wait and see what they say - of course like all of them, they're busy at this time of year and he says they may not be able to get to it till next week, though they will have a quick look in case it's something silly. Really hope it is but I'm doubtful.

Really big up for Britannia Rescue - they told me Sunday I'd be entitled to a second recovery to get it to a workshop, just phoned and they hope to pick it up within the hour!

Today's downside - spent so much time trying to find somewhere to take the trike yesterday it got really late so I got fish n chips for tea and I think my fish may have been off - been somewhat ill all night and still feel shit!

Update about the breakdown - phoned the bike shop today, they have parts on order and if they come tomorrow and it goes together without any problems, it may be done tomorrow evening as they've made it a priority. I'm going to phone about lunchtime to see if the parts arrived cos if they didn't I'm going to start cancelling things while I can still get some money back. This one's going right down to the wire!

Still not sure what the problem is cos the office lady didn't know and I wasn't going to make a nuisance of myself with the very busy mechanic, but she looked at the parts list and amongst various gaskets etc there was a 'sleeve' which she said was apparently the important bit - sounds to me like something to do with the driveshaft, which is what I thought in the first place.

Now I have to rush off and buy a trailer board at Halfrauds inflated prices cos I forgot to order one, and some tie-downs cos I can't find mine, and construct a ramp of some sort to get the trike onto the dolly! All 'just in case' she's fixed in time - not holding my breath tho.
