Hi all.
After the THIRD DIY respray since my off last year, Ive finally given-up trying to sort my petrol tank out.
Im guessing there is some kinda neoprene-specific paint/primer that I need to do the job right, but Ive been unable to find any.
After a few weeks of it being done, the paint crackles/crazy-paves all over and looks sh**e!
Yes Im using primers/rubbing down/etc and even tried petrol-proof lacquer last time hoping it would be strong enough to hold it all together!
The rest of the paint on the panels, hump, etc are perfect too.
This time I thought I had it using a mix of paint and vinyl, but still no joy, so:
Anyone have a tank they'd like to sell me?
Ideally in black as thats the new colour scheme (with a bit of red here n there) and preferably with no/very minor marks/scuffs.
I had considered getting it professionally painted but I need the bike fer work so would need a spare tank to see me through.
Also, a mate of mine had his Trumpet ST tank sprayed (also neoprene) by a shop and it did the exact same thing (crazy-pave cracking).
Is it the tanks 'breathing' thats causing me problems?
I know there is a group buy on the CF tanks but its WAAAY outta my price range (short contracted hours = low wages: Cheers B&Q).
Anyone help me out?...

Yes - once I've got my spare tank back from Richard who had been using it to assess the work for the carbon tank project, it'll be available.
I think that's likely to be very soon.

It's in need of a bit of refurbishment but it is black. I'll get some pics for you.
