Wanted - Falco rear mudguard flap
Hi all. Hopefully someone will have one of these kicking around. It's the plastic flap that (sort of) protects the rear shock from the road crap thrown up by the rear wheel that I need. It's bolted to the main undertray by two button cap head screws buried under some rubber at the base of the battery compartment.
In trying (unsuccessfully) to get mine off I managed to enlarge the bolt hole so that the bolt head now passes straight through. D'uh...

That was my first thoughtMartDude wrote:If it's plastic, can't you .............

My second was that I might have one. If I remember, I'll have a look at the weekend.

I wish I could do the same to mine, been trying to get rid of it for ages...
mashed a bolt head, wont budge..
dont want or need the bloody thing, spoils the look of the hugger.
If you cant source another, then I could be persuaded into some intricate work with a hacksaw blade

That's exactly what happened with mine. The location means that the bolt/nut interface gets get corroded easily and the head of the button cap screw appears to be made out of cheddar (or possibly even Brie...)fatboy wrote:I wish I could do the same to mine, been trying to get rid of it for ages...

I was hoping for a single item, not a pair of flaps. Although...fatboy wrote:dont want or need the bloody thing, spoils the look of the hugger.

Sorry I don't have a spare Graham.
I had the exact same problem!
I tried to quickly remove it, when I started fitting the NWS hugger, but no joy, so cut a slice off the bottom so I could fit the hugger, and went back to it for another go.
Still no Joy so gave up.
Tried again about a year later, as the flap (now shortened) still looks crap, but did not want to damage the bottom of the battery box, so gave up again.
It's still there 8 or 9 years later!!
