Go for it Mr D, I did a weekend with a BikeSafe instructor (privately) in north wales when I'd lost confidence after an off (messy road -car pulled out - oh shit - etc etc) and it really made a differenceD-Rider wrote:Been intending doing one of these for several years but still not got round to it...//...

Will confirm after the weekend when i've checked calendar but it looks like 23rd or 30th July, more than likely 23rd at Leics PHQ (Enderby) as it's the nearest one at the end of the M69 and more familiar with the Leics roads, the Warks one appealed from Heritage Museum, Gaydon but it's an early start and will take an hour to get there!D-Rider wrote:Depending on when, I might join you Mr Fury.
(maybe rope-in one or two others of the Midlands Massive)
N Yorks one was free but they split it over two half days rather than one, but the roads around Thirsk would have been good
Thanks for the replies and encouragement, will def do this and report back after

Well i survived!!
I had a fantastic day, the weather was excellent, the other guy didn't turn up and so it was 1-2-1. Once the DVD bit was over with we were out on the Leics roads for around 3 hours, heading over to Market Harborough nick for lunch on their roof terrace!
I picked up so many hints and tips, and the guy was a real biking enthusiast and loved the Falco and the noise it made when he was following me
Prob not everyone's cup of tea but for a novice like me BRILLIANT! He's videoed the whole thing so will be getting that through once it's been edited. Looking at the rear tyre it became evident that i was leaning over an awful lot more so in the 3 hours i was out i advanced a great deal as my total miles on a bike totals 3600miles in the last 18 months
(yes they're white boots...get over it! )

Hi all,
Just checked Durham website, one-on-one training is £100! If you are new to riding, or returning after a long break, introductory offer of £35. How come you guys get it for free
Might go on it though....

Re: Cop Training...
Sounds a bit steep that, as has been said it does vary from force to force. Leics and Warks were £60, as was West Yorks, North Yorks was free, some do it over 1 day, others two halfdays. Bucks didn't do one at all, because of my circumstances I had pick of a fe w courses...as well as the experience because it's an official course u get a certificate which could get u discount on ur insuranceGregD-UK wrote:Hi all,
