One of the many thoughts that popped into my head while reading that site was how little photography has changed. I've just returned from a from a trip to the Pyrenees and took loads of pics just like those.

A more affluent version of some of my family holidays.
Some of my earliest memories are waving out the top of es2 norton outfit in Germany. Fixing a puncture in Bruges etc. That would have been about 1957.
Any way those are great pictures from a time where taking a bike abroad was a major adventure.

The quality of the photos is amazing - the content even more so!
And these people just did it -no wonder I'm less than impressed with the famous pair that did bottom to top or upside down or whatever.

Yeah but Ewan and Charlie only had a support team of 6 or so. And modern machinery. And modern kit. And a planned route with 24/7 on call medical cover.
