New Toy - and a chance to learn

recently I aquired a helmet cam - for 40 quid, I felt i had too!

(I want to make a little homage movie for the falco - and this is a part of what I needed to do to make it)

Now mounting the bloody thing was interesting - but i have tried various different things, and think I may have it cracked - if so, details will follow later.

BUT

I have sat down and watched a few bits of film and found that I was able to critique my riding style - and i think it has helped me develop some riding skills.

Things learnt so far:

Road positioning - not always as I thought, but not too bad
Reading corners and getting the right angle of attack for smoother cornering
over aggressive use of the throttle - must try to be more progressive, not just whap it open :)
Use of engine for slowing - is ok, but need to think a little more on clutch use
finally - I did have a small whoopsie moment - like a stonking great power wheelie..... as the camera goes up, I noticed there was a white car waiting to pull out of a side road..... I did not notice that it had a blue tit on the top at the time... close call I feel :)

maybe worthwhile other people thinking of this kind of thing for themselves

If you want a copy of my Falco ride from May 2007 I can let you have one. its a wopping 750meg but its not bad, such a shame that our leader lost us fairly frequently (also some rather nice sound effects on throttle openings)

How about posting up the vids so we can add our own (contructive) criticism ?
