Electronic or manual?

Hi all , just agreed to buy my first Ducati at 57 , it’s been a long time coming! Dealer advertised the bike as a multistrada 1200 s touring but it doesn’t have the electronic suspension so it’s a standard 1200 !
Bike is a 2010 with 28k , just had belts / service done , full Ducati history ! Would this put you all off buying it or am I better having manual suspension on an older bike ? Thanks for any help / advice
Neil

Hi Neil

Not experienced the Ducati (other than on track) but having a KTM and BMW with electronic suspension, I'd hold out for the coffee cream!

Hello and welcome,
This my opinion only, The full history is a big plus and fully electronic everything can get a bit overwhelming, far too much choice of slightly differing modes.
Nowt wrong with using a spanner !

Let me just say that if you need to push a spanner then never wrap a clenched mitt around said spanner, push using the palm of greasy paw......
Saves shit loada knuckle grief l

I'd say that you're probably better off with manual suspenders on a 10 year old bike. I know that electronic suspension is supposed to be the best thing since sliced bread, but all those little stepper motors whirring away in a confined space would worry me, especially as the mileage racked up. It's all groovy while it's working but if/when it breaks down, the bill will be frightening...
