140cc? Mo mate. Happy to plod around. Although there is a 190 single cylinder 4 valve engine that produces 28 BHP?
The standard unit only produces about 6 BHP.

.... although I don't go for the "bolted on as an afterthought number plate" .... which I think might not fully comply with regs due to positioning - though I doubt you're likely to encounter any problems with it.

Could have a look here http://www.legislation.gov.uk/uksi/2001 ... 561_en.pdf I couldn't be arsed to look myself but I also believe that there were at one time a lot of bikes with side mounted plates ie 1930'ish onwards
