Which begs the question, what makes a bike a 'proper' GPz?

Its marketing name was changed in 1994 from EX500 to Ninja 500; the R suffix was added in 1998. In Europe it was sold as the GPZ 500.

It's a plastic GPZ, it's not based on power and performance. It was is and always will be a wannabe GPZ!

True Kawasaki GPZ designation is about performance, always has been, as with the Suzuki GSXR
